This is my overview post of the 1962 books I have on my TBR, my 1962 Book of the Year (currently reading) and other books I might have read if I had access to a copy. https://marketgardenreader.wordpress.com/2023/10/19/1962-club-books-an-overview

I’m not quite sure if I’m supposed to send my links to you and Simon or just one of you – so I’m sending to both, hope that’s not too confusing…

Sorry to be a nuisance, but I also read Holiday at the Dew Drop Inn and I’m not sure it got added to the list? (I think this is the first time I’ve ever managed to read three books for the club, though I know many people read lots more than that!)

Here’s my review of the lovely Apple Bough by Noel Streatfeild, only slightly late. https://marketgardenreader.wordpress.com/2023/10/23/apple-bough-noel-streatfeild-1962-club-travelling-shoes
I’m still only halfway through Explosion in a Cathedral, but I’m far enough to know it’s wonderful, so I’m going to try to write an interim review tomorrow, if I’m in the writing mood.

My final overdue 1962 Club post is on Explosion in a Cathedral by Alejo Carpentier. I haven’t finished the book, but it is fantastic! https://marketgardenreader.wordpress.com/2023/10/25/explosion-in-a-cathedral-1962-by-alejo-carpentier-john-sturrock-translator
