I’m pleased to be taking part today in a blog tour on Shiny New Books for a new title which explores fascinating territory. The book is called “Parallel Lives” by Maryam Diener, and it’s set in the early part of the 20th century.

The protagonists are two women, Edith Tudor-Hart and Ursula Kuczynski, who do indeed lead the parallel lives of the title. Both spy for the East out of an ideological belief and a hatred of fascism; but things are never straightforward, with love and family life complicating things. These were influential women, behind the spy rings containing familiar names, and it’s so interesting to discover their stories. My full thoughts are here!
