I just looked up a few titles and see a few favorites. Shibumi by Trevanian is a novel I loved in college that was published in 1979. So was Haruki Murakami’s Hear the Wind Sing. William Styron’s Sophie’s Choice was also published in 1979, but it was so dark to me that I am just recovering from it now. I think I may try to read Peter Straub’s Ghost Story, and hit a requirement for the R.I.P. XVI at the same time. Regardless, I always enjoy these events that you and Simon host.

Actually, on reading more about Ghost Story, I don’t think that’s for me!

They’re fun events, I think (but of course I’m biased) – and you list some interesting books but I don’t think I’m strong enough for Sophie’s Choice!

Erase everything I left in a comment! What a foolish girl I am, thinking 1979 instead of 1976! Off to find different titles…😌
