Oh my, is that a blast of the past! I remember being completely overwhelmed by the song ‘breakfast’…playing it over and over again and feeling as melodramatic as can be…at what 16, 17? The agony that spoke through his breaking voice..he was gorgeous. I am of the Vinyl Villain now…

He was a wonderful maverick, a complete one-off – and that voice! I think I will always listen to his music. Enjoy the VV! 🙂

I had not heard of Billy Mackenzie, reading about his story he sounds like he was one of a kind.
Thanks for the link to Vinyl Villain, I’m following that blog now. You have to really search for news on music from Scotland.

Billy was a wonderful musician and much missed. Glad you like VV – I’ve been following the blog for years and it’s excellent!
